GEOST seeks an enthusiastic and highly capable Electrical Engineering Scientist to join our growing team of innovators. This position will be responsible for the design and development of complex opto-electronic sensors and systems.  A qualified candidate will be adept at working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and be responsible for designing, fielding, testing, and verifying optical and infrared sensors and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designand test complex opto-electronic sensors and systems.
  • Use understanding of laser communications principles and techniques to solve complex projects.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Integration and Production in the testing and calibration of opto-electronic systems.
  • Design and implement optical testing and fixturing capabilities to align optical systems and verify performance.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optical Sciences or Engineering with an emphasis in opto-electronics design.
  • An active US Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred.
  • Experience in astronomy, physics, or remote-sensing.
  • Excellent task management skills including the ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage resources, and deliver results within given constraints.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support development of analytical models using common software and languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, STK, GMAT, and Python.
